Larry Bell constructed his new production brewery in Comstock Township east of Kalamazoo off route 96 in 2002. This microbrewery uses a 50-bbl Steinecker brewhouse purchased from the defunct Los Angeles Brewing Co. to produce its beers. In April 2006, Kalamazoo Brewing changed its name to Bell's Brewing Inc.
